January 28th is the Annual Data Privacy Day!

Data Privacy Day is an international effort to empower and educate people to protect their privacy and control their digital footprint.

Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the Data Protection Day celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. Data Privacy Day is now a celebration for everyone, observed annually on January 28.

Visit the Data Privacy Day website to learn more about how to protect your data and help spread the word!

Welcome to my new project!

Thanks for visiting my new pet project. This website will be all about as the name suggests how to protect your privacy online. I’ve always been somewhat of a web geek but all of this talk about the NSA and the information that has been leaked by Edward Snowden got me very interested in online privacy and security. I spend a lot of time researching and learning about security and how to protect yourself online so I thought I would share my findings with you here.

Most people are really ignorant when it comes to using computers and being safe online. I bet some of you reading this right now use the same password on many websites and probably have it written on a post it note on the side of your monitor.

My goals is to communicate this complicated stuff as clearly and easily as possible so the most novice computer use can understand it and get some benefit from this website and most of all start being a little safer online.

Make sure you follow me on my social media channels and sign up for the newsletter. I’ll be posting some great stuff here.
